The Story of Two Royal Oaks

This week, 99 years later, James Lowther and Linda Blatchly from the Moulton College Countryside Education Centre at Holdenby planted another Royal Oak to mark the Diamond Jubilee of his grandaughter, Elizabeth II.

The oak sapling was grown from an acorn grown on the Queen's royal estates and was gien to the Countryside Centre by The Woodland Trust.

The Countryside Centre provides educational programmes for children aged 4-18 as well as funning family activity days for families.

The tree can be seen by Sunday visitors to the Grade 1 gardens here at Holdenby.
